Summer Reading Club for 2017/18

Summer Reading Club registrations for December 2017 to January 2018 school holidays are open now. This year’s theme is Game On! Register at either Berri or Barmera library today and supercharge your summer with plenty of sports, games and team spirit activities at Berri Barmera Library Service. Entries close at the end of January 2018.

Reading has never been so rewarding!

  • Read books, magazines, graphic novels, comics or listen to audio books to get rewards these school holidays.
  • When you read a book yourself or with someone, record the title and author on the reading log.
  • If you love a particular book that you’ve read during the summer school holidays, share your thoughts by a review on the form provided and we will display it in the library.
  • Read 10 books and enter into the prize to win a clever Sphero Mini App controlled robot at Berri or a fun filled outdoor games pack at Barmera.

  • Visit your Berri Barmera Library Service Library and pick up a Reading Pack – this pack contains everything you will need to get your reading Game On – Registration forms, reading logs and activity pack for your age group.

Are there different levels for different ages?

There are three levels within the club.

  • Pre-school – Children aged 0 – 5 years (parents can read their books to them)
  • Primary – Children aged 6 – 12 years (independent readers, parents can also read books to them)
  • Secondary – Children aged 13 – 16 (independent readers)

Do I need to be a member of the Berri Barmera Library Service?

No, you do not need to be a member of either Berri or Barmera libraries to join the Club and download the reading packs. However if you are you, can borrow even more stories to go towards your reading total and maybe even win the major prize. When you visit your local library to pick up your Summer Reading Club Pack, ask one of our friendly staff how to become a member. It’s FREE.
